The Vitruvian Mermaid

Based on the world famous drawing The Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci, which he scratched out on a dull Wednesday afternoon in 1490 when he probably should have been focussing on his sculptures.

This modern day reimagining by illustrator @lip.disc not only depicts the (100% accurate) proportions of a real life mermaid, its macabre twist features a bare bones mermaid skeleton in the multiple-armed Vitruvian pose.

Mermaids are now rarer than ever. They are considered an endangered species, along with the much of Earth’s dwindling sea life, whose natural habitat has been utterly ravaged in recent years due to overfishing, pollution, and the increase in ocean microplastics.

This product is printed on QM Eco, our climate neutral tee —made from luxuriously soft, combed, organic cotton— which was manufactured solely using renewable green energy from wind and solar power. With a contemporary unisex fit, it’s suitable for mermaids and mermen alike!

Let’s look after our planet’s oceans. Let’s save the mermaids!
